Myra Nadine Murphy, 64, of Belmont, passed away on October 10, 2022 at her home. She was born in Rockingham County and spent her childhood surrounded by family and helping on the farm. Myra graduated from East Gaston High School and spent her adult years working in a variety of fields; some of her favorite roles were related to the food industry and as a nursing assistant. Myra was a Christian and spoke often about her beliefs. Throughout her life, she became involved in social causes related to Diabetes, Lupus, and Suicide Awareness. Myra seemed to always make friends wherever she went. She is remembered as a kind, friendly, and wonderful friend. Her recent days were spent amongst family and friends, fostering those connections and relationships she held dearly.

Myra is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Evelyn Pruitt and by her son, Joseph Packett.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria DeBrosse and son-in-law, Matt DeBrosse and their two children, Emma and Henry. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Melissa Grimsley and grandchildren, Peyton and Sophie Packett. Also left to cherish her memories are her sister, Susan Gately and family, and her brother, Richard Pruitt. She has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date on her beloved family farm.
